The problem
The enclosure was being made across three suppliers: one for cutting and forming, one for welding, and one for coating. Every hand-off introduced a new set of tolerance assumptions, and a bend that had been adjusted downstream showed up as a lid that no longer fitted at final assembly.
What we did
The whole chain moved to a single order. The flat pattern, bend allowance and weld fixture were agreed once, and the coating masking was planned at the same time — which is the step that usually gets discovered too late. Threaded inserts were fitted after coating so the threads stayed clean and correctly sized.
Result
Parts arrive as a labelled kit: enclosure, lid, hardware and bracket set. The customer’s incoming inspection now checks quantities rather than dimensions, because the fit is settled before the order ships.
