How we hold this quality

Drawing-based reporting

Reports follow your drawing's dimensions and datums, so your engineer can read the results directly against the print instead of cross-referencing our format.

Model-based verification

For sculpted and free-form parts, measured points are compared against the CAD model and the deviation is reported as a colour map.

Critical features first

Fit, function and safety features are measured first and are always included in the report, regardless of how the rest of the part is sampled.

Traceable records

Inspection results are stored against the order, so a later question about a delivered batch can be answered with data rather than recollection.

Inspection is how a manufactured part becomes a verifiable one. The measurement plan is derived from your drawing, and the report is structured so your engineer can check it without interpretation.

What we measure and how

  • CMM for position, form and profile on complex parts and multi-face geometry.
  • Optical measurement for small features, edges and fragile parts that should not be touched by a contact probe.
  • Calibrated hand instruments — micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges and thread gauges — for fast in-process checks.

Reports and documentation

A first article inspection report accompanies new parts and new tooling. Production batches can be supplied with dimensional reports, material certificates and finish certificates. Tell us which features are critical and the report will prioritise them.

Inspection — frequently asked questions

What is included in a first article inspection report?

The ballooned drawing with each inspected dimension numbered, the measured values, the nominal and tolerance, and the pass or fail result — plus material and finish certificates where they apply.

Do you inspect every part?

The first article is fully inspected. During the run we inspect the features identified in the inspection plan at defined intervals; for critical or low-volume parts, that can mean every piece.

Can you inspect parts you did not manufacture?

Yes. We can measure incoming or returned parts and supply a report against your drawing, which is useful for supplier comparison or failure investigation.
