Every part is produced to a customer drawing with inspection and, where required, dimensional reporting.
Plastic parts are usually specified for what they do not do: they do not conduct, they do not corrode, and they do not add much weight.
Machining considerations
Plastics are easy to cut but easy to damage. Sharp tooling with high rake angles, air or coolant to clear chips, and fixtures that support the part instead of crushing it are what keep these parts straight and dimensionally stable.
Where a plastic part has to hold a tight tolerance, we let it stabilise before final measurement — plastics move with temperature and moisture, and a part measured hot is not a part measured.
